What is Kagoshima black beef?
At the 12th National Wagyu Beef Athletic Meet held in Kagoshima Prefecture in October 2022, it won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award in six out of nine categories (with one honorable mention), and the Prime Minister’s Award, the highest award in the steer category, for its top Wagyu beef brand.
Kagoshima black beef is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, and is characterized by the melting texture of its low melting point marbling (sashi) and the delicate yet firm flavor of its meat and fat.
