For the upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, seven athletes from DAISHIN were chosen to join the 23-player national roster (Smile Japan). Additionally, three athletes have been selected for the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship.

In recognition of this achievement, our company has presented tournament incentive grants to both the Olympic and U18 national team representatives.

What is the Edogawa Armors Jr. Ice Hockey Club?

The Edogawa Armors Jr. Ice Hockey Club is a junior ice hockey team based at Edogawa Ward Sports Land, with members ranging from preschoolers to junior high school students. We provide careful instruction covering everything from skating fundamentals to team play, fostering growth in mind, technique, and body while teaching the importance of manners and hard work. The children practice during weekday evenings and weekends, competing for top positions in Tokyo and Kanto tournaments.

What is Lean Wagyu?

LEAN originally refers to meat with low fat content and high protein, but our Lean Wagyu embodies the concept of “delicious lean Wagyu beef.”

Rin Wagyu is Kagoshima-bred Japanese Black cattle raised under strict management by partner farms. Emphasizing the pedigree of parent cattle with superior meat quality, they are long-term fattened on carefully selected feed without using feed additives like monensin. Among these, cattle selected based on unique evaluation criteria—possessing low-melting-point fat and high-quality lean meat flavor—are defined as “Rin Wagyu.”

Furthermore, while it is graded A4 to A5 with a relatively high proportion of marbling, we meticulously select the cuts and employ skilled processing techniques to accentuate the rich flavor of the lean meat. By cutting it into bite-sized pieces, we create a Japanese beef product with a pleasant mouthfeel.

I (the company representative) was born in 1987 in Kushiro, the “Ice City.” As a young child, I was inspired by watching older neighborhood boys play ice hockey and joined Kushiro’s prestigious junior club, “Daishin Jr.” From then until high school graduation, my life revolved almost entirely around ice hockey, and I had many encounters and experiences. It taught me critical thinking and character, fostering the strong spirit needed to live independently in society.

Though considered a minor sport in Japan, with its player base and rinks dwindling each year, I want to express my gratitude to ice hockey—a sport that profoundly shaped my life and helped me grow—by doing what little I can to support and invigorate the sport as a whole.

What is Kagoshima black beef?

At the 12th National Wagyu Beef Athletic Meet held in Kagoshima Prefecture in October 2022, it won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award in six out of nine categories (with one honorable mention), and the Prime Minister’s Award, the highest award in the steer category, for its top Wagyu beef brand.

Kagoshima black beef is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, and is characterized by the melting texture of its low melting point marbling (sashi) and the delicate yet firm flavor of its meat and fat.
